On September 18, the Fondazione Chips-IT Director Carlo Reita visited New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) at their Kawasaki headquarters to advance Italy–Japan cooperation in semiconductor IC design and technology transfer.

Among other topics, three shared priorities were discussed: AI-based EDA tools, RISC-V–based architectures, and Chiplet Integration Platforms—areas where Fondazione Chips-IT can partner with leading Japanese institutes and NEDO-supported programs.

Participants included:
Tomoyasu Nishimura, Executive Director, NEDO
Koji Nakano, Director General, Semiconductor & Information Infrastructure Department, NEDO
Atsuhiko Kiba, Director, International Affairs Section, NEDO
Tetsuya Munakata, Deputy Director, Administrative Affairs Section, NEDO
Gianluigi Serianni, Science, Technology & Innovation Attaché, Embassy of Italy in Tokyo
Kenji Kanzaki, Economic & Commercial Affairs Office, Embassy of Italy in Tokyo

Many thanks to our hosts for the warm welcome and productive exchange. We look forward to turning this dialogue into concrete, high-impact projects for both ecosystems.
